A home bakery that found Main Street.

Brother and sister Tannar and Skylar Hess run Blu Sky. She bakes the case before the doors open. He spent years getting this downtown Eaton building. Coffee, cinnamon rolls, and lunch followed.

How it started

From a family bake-off to a full cafe

In their Voyage Ohio interview, the siblings trace it back to a baking competition for a family friend. A best-in-show German chocolate cake turned into cake orders, then a home bakery.

Blu Sky's Bakery launched on Facebook in 2014. Concession breakfast and lunch came in 2023. The Eaton storefront opened in August 2024, after Tannar had been after the building since 2017.

Blu Sky's Bakery starts on Facebook

A baking competition for a family friend turned into cake orders, then a home bakery. Skylar kept baking. Tannar kept the longer plan in view.
